This Barbados villa is set in secluded woodland at the end of a modest, unmarked road, with imposing gates, surrounded by many mature trees and sweeping lawns, amidst 3 acres of gardens.

The property was previously known as Anton Hall in the late 18th century and is believed to have been built between 1735 and 1750. The present owners have done a great job in modernizing the villa into a luxury Barbados villa, while keeping it in a traditional Barbadian style.

The original house would have been the square Georgian block so common throughout the British Colonial islands, a term used to describe the many delightful tropical touches, for example the use of limestone, verandas, galleries, raising the house over a full basement, imposing exterior stairs, push-out windows and jalousies shutters – all of which can be seen at Bellevue.

This 8 bedroom villa in Barbados is a great venue for family occasions or special events such as weddings or incentive groups, as there are large entertainment rooms, a large swimming pool and bar area with grounds that can be used for outdoor entertaining.

Bellevue is just 10 minutes from the capital of Bridgetown &  the sandy beaches of the south coast and has lovely views across Bridgetown Harbour. This Plantation House exudes the grandeur and grace of a bygone era, with a sweeping colonial dual stairway leading to a large wraparound veranda on the second level, from where guests can take enjoy the spectacular views of the Harbour and countryside whilst watching the magnificent Barbados sunset and sipping local rum cocktails.

The formal living area still has traditional polished wooden floors and a few antiques and located on the main entry level of the property. The master bedroom suite and 3 further guest suites are also located on this level. Bedrooms are all air-conditioned and 3 open onto balconies which sometimes capture cooling trade winds. On the lower level 2 further guest bedrooms and suites, a large family room, with a mosaic design of the island of Barbados and a convenient study. There are two large dining tables that can be used for formal dining or a board meeting. This area looks out to the large swimming pool and deck, surrounded by a lush garden and mature trees.

A new addition to the property is a cottage on the grounds providing a further 2 air conditioned bedrooms
